Position: Planning Engineer
Reporting To: Director Technical/CEO
Type: Contract
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience as Head of Planning and Engineering.
Proven experience in hydropower projects including HRT, power house, dam
constructions.
Experience in road and bridge construction projects.
Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contract documents and handling claims.

Job Responsibilities
1. Planning and Scheduling
o Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual construction plans.
o Develop comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning tools and
software.
o Coordinate with project managers to ensure plans align with project goals and
timelines.
2. Budgeting and Cost Management
o Prepare project budgets and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
o Monitor project expenditures and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
o Identify potential cost savings and implement cost control measures.
3. Technical Proficiency
o Utilize AutoCAD and other engineering software for project planning and
design.
o Ensure accuracy in technical drawings and specifications.
o Keep abreast of new developments and technologies in civil engineering.
4. Hydropower Projects
o Oversee planning and execution of hydropower projects including Head Race
Tunnel (HRT), power house, and dam constructions.
o Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
o Coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory bodies for project approvals and
inspections.
5. Roads and Bridges
o Plan and supervise construction of roads and bridges ensuring structural
integrity and safety.
o Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with design specifications and
standards.
6. Sewage, Water Supply, and Township Developments
o Plan and manage projects related to sewage and water supply systems.
o Oversee township development projects ensuring comprehensive urban
planning and infrastructure development.
o Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards for water and sewage
projects.
7. Billing and Documentation
o Prepare and review bills for construction work completed.
o Ensure timely submission of bills and manage billing disputes.
o Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
8. Contract Management
o Thorough understanding of FIDIC contract documents.
o Manage and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
o Handle claims for deviations, extra works, additional items, and idle charges.
o Negotiate and resolve contract disputes with clients and subcontractors.
9. Claims Management
o Prepare and submit claims for additional work, deviations, and idle charges.
o Justify claims with detailed documentation and analysis.
o Liaise with clients and stakeholders to resolve claims amicably.
Skills and Competencies
