Years of experience: Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the role of Resident Engineer, with at least
2 (two) port construction projects of similar nature with each project 100 (one hundred) million USD or more construction costs. Minimum of 20 years’ cumulative experience in Civil Engineering Minimum of 10 years’ site experience in port and marine construction projects International working experience with preference in the Middle East.
Qualification: Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering
Field of expertise and experience: Design & Build, FIDIC Yellow, Shore protection, Reclamation, Dredging,
Geotechnical testing and soil improvement, Payment certification, Claim management
Language skills: Fluent in writing and speaking English is mandatory.

 Manage scope, quality, schedule, and cost of construction and post construction
phases of the project.
 Establish construction team and provide project team leadership by
clearly defining project objectives and team members’ roles.

specific duties:
 Continuously raise awareness about safety
 Arrange and conduct construction meetings; ensure meeting minutes
are properly prepared, recorded, and issued.
 Define level of inspection services required; coordinate inspection
activities for the duration of the project to ensure quality of
construction. Ensure field personnel maintain proper daily inspection
logs.
 Refine and revise the level of testing services required and proposed by
the contractor to ensure construction quality meets or exceeds
requirements.
 Coordinate input and review comments on Contractor’s submittals by
the back office support team / Site team and Contractor, as appropriate.
Ensure timely responses on submittals to Contractor and proper logging
and tracking of submittals.
 Monitor team member performance and initiate corrective actions and
recommendations, as appropriate.
 Monitor, review, and recommend approval of payment requests
submitted by Contractor and ensure timely processing of payments.
 Material and subcontractor approvals
 Arrange Independent Testing of Materials
to change issues and Change Order development, and ensure proper supporting documentation from Contractor.
 Prepare monthly progress report to SIDC reflecting the status of the
construction contract.
 Review and recommend approval of Contractor progress payment
applications. Ensure receipt of proper payment documentation.
 Assist by giving direction to Site Inspector activities.
 Be vigilant for signs of potential claims and mitigate causes.
 Review construction schedule and provide comments to Contractor, as
appropriate; monitor and document construction progress and initiate
remedial actions, as required.
 Ensure Contractor’s compliance with SIPC environmental requirements.
 Ensure Contractor’s compliance with turbidity requirements.
 Ensure receipt of proper final payment documentation, final approved
maintenance manuals, and asâ€built drawings reviewed and approved by
site team and Contractor designer.
 Coordinate notifications and responses to warranty issues
